A supplier that's never a problem to your process
Here’s the honest version most extruders won’t print: the metal and the standard are the same as everyone else’s. We build every profile to the Aluminum Association’s published tolerances — and then we win on how we treat you. This page tells you exactly what we can hold, what we don’t chase, and how we check your parts.
ANSI H35.2 & Aluminum Standards & Data
Aluminum extrusion tolerances aren’t something a supplier makes up. They’re published by The Aluminum Association in two references the whole industry uses: ANSI H35.2 — Dimensional Tolerances for Aluminum Mill Products and Aluminum Standards & Data (ASD).
Here’s the part that matters for your design: those tolerances were written by the Association’s technical committee to reflect both what designers need and what an extrusion press can actually hold. So when AES says “we build to the standard,” that’s an industry-agreed, achievable bar — not a marketing boast.
We reference the standard; we don’t reproduce it here (it’s copyrighted). You can read the official document from the source: The Aluminum Association — standards.
Standard tolerances, matched to your part
AES manufactures to ANSI H35.2 (the Aluminum Association standard tolerances) unless otherwise specified.
We don’t publish one-size-fits-all numbers, because what a press can actually hold depends on the profile geometry, the circumscribing circle, wall thickness, alloy, temper, and the intended application — it varies from one profile to the next. Rather than overpromise, we review your specific part and tell you exactly what we can hold.
If your design needs tighter than standard, we’ll review the application with you to determine the best manufacturing approach. Depending on the requirement, that may mean a profile design modification, a secondary machining operation, or another manufacturing method.
How we check your parts
We verify all critical dimensions required for fit and function through first-article inspection and ongoing quality checks throughout production — and a named person owns the answer.
What we don't chase
Knowing our lane is part of the service. If your part isn’t a fit, we’ll say so on the first call so you don’t waste time.
AS9100, Nadcap, and mil-spec alloy programs aren’t our lane — and we’ll tell you on the first call.
High-volume automotive qualification runs are a better fit for the large presses.
If you just need off-the-shelf stock at the lowest possible price, a distributor will beat us. Ask us when the profile is custom or the relationship matters.
Send your print — we'll tell you what we can hold
A real person replies within one business day. Many quotes go out same or next day; complex parts take longer and we’ll tell you when to expect it.
